Our body has to have sufficient time to rest. Otherwise, you may find yourself feeling cranky and tired. This may sound like common sense, but according to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), there are more than two-thirds of older adults under go sleep problems and there are numerous American adults don't get the sufficient amount of rest needed to stay alert.
Sleep is a fundamental in achieving good health and to mental and emotional well-being. The NSF reports that people who don't have enough sleep are more likely than others to grow a psychiatric problems and to use health care services. In addition, lack of sleep can negatively affect memory, learning, and logical reasoning.
Not enough sleep can also be hazardous. More than one-half of adult drivers have a problem of sleeping then they get drowsy in there work and it is a risk to the people in that vehicle there. Each year drowsy driving is one source of accident, more than 100,000 car crashes, 1,500 deaths, and tens of thousands of damages and injuries, reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The NSF suggests taking a 15 to 20 minute nap. Because it takes approximately 30 minutes for the caffeine to work, taking a nap while you wait for the caffeine to kick in can be helpful to restore alertness.
To avoid these problems of insufficient sleep, make sure to get at least seven to 10 hours of slumber each night. Kids must have more sleep than adults, and it is depending on their age.
